We’re looking for a talented Training Developer to join the team in our Atlanta based Restaurant Support Center. This position primarily supports domestic and international Popeyes business strategies and needs through the development of restaurant-level training materials, including: standard operating procedures, job aids, checklists, and eLearning courses.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
BS/A Instructional Design, English or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training and work experience with 3+ years of experience in a corporate Training and Development role. 1-3 years of experience writing and editing documents.
Experience with content management systems, software or strategy and proficient in eLearning authoring tools (Lectora a plus). Experience working with or in the restaurant industry, preferred and proficiency in additional authoring tools, such as Illlustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop, a plus.
Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory, along with experience developing blended learning solutions that drive performance improvement. Experience developing eLearning, working with a Learning Management System (LMS), and an understanding of authoring software (Lectora preferred) and standards.
Ability to collaborate, influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks for self and through others.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to edit content and grammar consistently. Strong experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Learning Design and Development (70%)
Design, develop and deliver innovative, blended learning solutions using sound ISD (Instructional System Design) expertise to develop functional and management skills and improve business results.
Work with project teams of internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development of new training content and programs.
Utilize the content management system and templates to develop training solutions that are creative, engaging and relevant to restaurant team members and management while supporting the needs of the business.
Develop training solutions that include, but are not limited to: job aids, eLearning courses, videos, instructor-led, performance support, and mobile-enabled support.
Design scripts, storyboards, and other media assets (graphics, audio, and video) while adhering to sound instructional design principles.
Ask for and listen to feedback, and incorporate feedback into training materials. Troubleshoot problems for end users, as needed.
Provide training development support with other departmental projects, as needed.
Project Management (10%)
Leverage internal project management tools and templates to ensure projects are restaurant ready as well as of a high quality, delivered on time, and on budget.
Collaboratively works with others to achieve best solutions and mutual commitments within a project. Hold self and others accountable for project deliverables.
Content Administration (10%)
Assist with the development and administration of keeping content up-to-date utilizing the content management system and strategy implemented at Popeyes.
Strategic Impact (5%)
Participate on cross-functional project teams in support of strategic goals.
Build relationships with cross-functional team members and franchisees, both inside and outside of scheduled project work, to help gain insight, identify needs and create best-in-class learning solutions.
Training Innovation (5%)
Maintain awareness of industry trends and technology available that could result in a reduced cost of training, make efficiency improvements to current processes, and make learning fun and impactful.
